Lay’s® Chip Trips is a promotion, brought to you by Frito Lay Canada, that helps Canadians enjoy all Canada has to offer by providing great discounts at hundreds of attractions like amusement parks, hotels, restaurants and car rentals across the country.

Each specially-marked bag of Lay’s® potato chips has a 9- or 10-digit unique code printed on the outside of the

on Lay’s® Singles Multipacks can be found inside the carton. Simply purchase specially-marked bags of Lay’s® potato chips, bank the points online at

and redeem them for savings on your chosen getaway.

Lay’s® potato chips are enjoyed by all Canadians and that’s why we selected attractions for the Lay’s® Chip Trip promotion that would appeal to people of all ages. There are activities for families or small groups including city tours, zoos and amusement parks as well as discounts on museums, hotels, restaurants, car rentals and much more.
You must, however, be a legal resident of Canada, over the age of majority in your province/territory of residence to set up a Lay’s® Chip Trips account. Anyone can go on a Lay’s® Chip Trip, as long as they’re accompanied by the account holder whose name appears on the Lay’s® Chip Trip voucher. However, there may be age or other restrictions at some of the participating venues, so please check the individual trip/offer’s terms & conditions for more information.

Though our summers are short, the Lay’s® Chip Trips promotion offers Canadians the opportunity to celebrate a whole season of fun with friends and family at their favourite local attractions. Through Lay’s® Chip Trips, participants can redeem points for great discounts at hundreds of attractions like amusement parks, hotels, restaurants and much more throughout Canada.

The specially-marked bags of Lay’s® potato chips will be in-store from around April 1, 2010 until early August. Points can be collected and banked in your online account. All points AND offers must be redeemed by December 31, 2010.

You can find a 9- or 10-digit unique code on specially-marked bags of all flavours of Lay’s® potato chips in the following sizes: 40 g, 55 g, 60 g, 95 g, 140 g (multipack), 235 g, 320 g and 465 g.

The specially-marked bags of Lay’s® potato chips will be widely available in retail and convenience outlets, gas stations and most supermarkets throughout Canada around April 1, 2010.

You will need to set up your own Lay’s® Chip Trips account at
www.lays.ca
. Upon purchasing a specially-marked bag of Lay’s® potato chips, log on to
www.lays.ca
and follow the instructions to create your account. You ca then enter the 9- or 10-digit unique code printed on the outside of the
bag
and bank your points into your Lay’s Chip Trips account. The more codes you enter, the more points you bank into your account. You can redeem your points for hundreds of great offers on amusement parks, hotels, restaurants, attractions and car rentals during the promotion.

It’s easy to set up your own Lay’s® Chip Trips account. Go to
www.lays.ca
and follow the instructions:
Click ‘register’ on the banner at the top of the page. You will be required to provide the following details:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Address and Postal Code
- Password
- Email address
- Age Group
You will then be asked to choose a password, which you will need to use each time you log into your account. Before your account can be set up, you will also be asked to accept the Lay’s® Chip Trip’s Terms & Conditions.

You must be a legal Canadian resident, over the age of majority in your province/territory of residence to set up a Lay’s® Chip Trips account. However, anyone under the age of majority wishing to use a Lay’s® Chip Trips voucher can do so, as long as they are accompanied by the account holder whose name appears on the Lay’s® Chip Trips voucher, and they comply with the terms and conditions outlined for that voucher.
Please note: There may be some age, height or other restrictions at some venues, so please check the individual trip/offer’s terms & conditions for more information.

Unfortunately, you cannot participate if you do not have access to the internet. The nature of this promotion means that we need to check the validity of every code entered, and we need to provide up-to-date information on the availability and details of each Lay’s® Chip Trips offer. This means that we need a website to handle this type of promotion.
Most public libraries have computers that you can use to access the internet. There may also be a relative or family member who has a computer with internet access that you can use.

If you look at the website under the heading ‘Login’ you will see that there is a link that says ‘Forgotten your password?’. Simply click the link and follow the instructions. All you have to do is enter your email address, and we’ll email you the password you registered with.

There are two ways to bank your points. Once you have set up an account at
www.lays.ca
, you can enter and bank codes.
- Log in to your Lay’s® Chip Trips account and enter the 9 or 10-digit unique code marked on the outside of every specially-marked bag of Lay’s® potato chips (or on in the inside of the carton from a Lay’s® Singles Multipack).
- Text your 9 or 10-digit unique code to 777777. The points will be linked directly to your account, provided you have registered your cell number on your account. See the TEXTING section for further details.

A 9- or 10-digit unique code can only be used one time. Once you have banked the code into your account, it will automatically become invalid.
There is no limit to the number of codes you can bank. Each time you bank a new code, your account balance will be updated accordingly.

We recommend you keep your codes in a safe place just in case of any issues with your account.

If you are experiencing difficulties entering your 9- or 10-digit unique code, it may be for the following reasons:
If you have entered your code onto the website incorrectly, you receive a message on-screen indicating either
Invalid Code
or
Duplicate Code
.
Invalid Code
- It may be that you’ve missed or misread one of the characters in your 9- or 10-digit code. Please check your code and enter it again. Once the system has recognized your code is valid, the points will automatically be credited to your account.

Duplicate Code
- It may be that you have already entered this code or that someone else has had access to your bag before you’ve had the chance to enter the code. Though there are many checkpoints in the system to monitor fraud, we still encourage you to keep your Lay’s® potato chip bags in a safe place before you have entered your codes. If you are still having problems entering your code, please contact the Lay’s® Chip Trips consumer services team at 1-800-376-2257.

If you’re trying to enter a code before the closing date, it could be that the website may be experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again in 24 hours.

Some of the specially-marked bags of Lay’s® potato chips may have a 9-digit unique code on them. This code will still work when entered on the

website. Please enter the code as you see it, and the fields will be adjusted accordingly. We recommend that you keep your codes in a safe place just in case there are any issues with your account.

No, there is no limit to the number of points you can collect and bank into your Lay’s® Chip Trips account. The more points you collect, the more Lay’s® Chip Trips offers you can go on!

No. In fact, the points from just one bag are enough to get you a great discount. The maximum number of points required for any offer is 50, which can be collected from five 235g bags or less.

Lay’s® Chip Trips accounts must be set up by an individual. There is no reason why several people cannot set up accounts and collect points to go on a trip together. However, please be advised that most Lay’s® Chip Trips are restricted to families and small groups. Please check individual trip/offer’s “Terms & Conditions” for details.

Your points will only be deducted from your account once you have booked your Lay’s® Chip Trip. Unfortunately, if you have booked your Lay’s® Chip Trip and the points have been deducted from your account total, we cannot add them back on to your account if you change your mind.

If you would like to exchange your points for a trip that requires a printed voucher, you can transfer the voucher into the name of a friend or relative if you would like them to go in your place.

You need a working printer in order to print out your voucher for most venues. This voucher needs to be provided to the venue in order for them to give you the offer identified on the Lay’s® Chip Trips website.
If you don’t have a printer at home or at work, don’t worry! You could always go to your local library or use a friend’s computer to print out your voucher.

No. The Lay’s® Chip Trips promotion is open to all legal residents of Canada, who are over the age of majority in their province/territory of residence. Hundreds of attractions were selected across the country in an attempt to provide a wide selection of choices for all ages and in every province.

Some Lay’s® Chip Trips venues may allow you to use more than one voucher for your party. However, most partners will only allow one voucher per transaction / booking. In addition, there may be other restrictions. Please check the terms & conditions section on the specific trip/offer page for further details.

Simply text your 9- or 10-digit unique code to 777777 and the points will be linked directly to your website account, provided you have registered the cell phone number you are texting from with your account. Standard text messaging charges of your carrier will apply. Text charges depend on your network operator and monthly contract.

If you would like to send a 9- or 10-digit unique code by text message before you have set up your account, we will store the code for you. We will also send you a 4-digit pin number. You will need to enter this pin number along with your cell phone number (and remember it has to be the same cell phone number from which you texted in the codes previously) when you set up your account online. The system will recognize the cell phone number and pin and allocate all the points stored for that cell phone number to the account that you have just set up. Only one cell phone number per Lay’s® Chip Trip account registration is permitted.

There is no limit to the number of 9- or 10-digit unique codes you can enter via text before you set up an account, but there is a maximum of (5) codes per cell phone number per day that may be entered.

Yes. Each time you text in a 9- or 10-digit unique code (using the cell phone number that you supplied when you registered to set up your account or will supply when you set up an account), you will receive a reply text message and PIN (if applicable) confirming we have received your code.
By texting your code, you also consent to receiving future marketing messages from Lay’s® brand.

No. You cannot send codes to your account using a different cell phone number. You must send codes to your account from the cell phone number you supplied when registering your account.
If you do send codes using a different cell phone number, our system will not be able to add those points to your account.

You should see points credited to your account within 24 hours of receiving the confirmation text reply, provided you have already set up your Lay’s® Chip Trips account. If you have not yet set up your Lay’s® Chip Trips account, your points will remain in our back end system until they can be matched with the cell phone number you provide during your account set up.

There could be a number of reasons for this:
- It may be that the cellular networks are experiencing delays
- Your inbox could be full
- You may have had your phone turned off for a long period of time. If so, wait 24 hours to see if you receive a reply
- It could be that you have sent your text to the wrong number. Please ensure that you have sent your text to 777777.
We suggest you try to enter your code again. If it has already been received, you will be advised that it is an invalid code in the reply message.
